The tour begins in Nagoya (March 1) and Tokyo (March 2), where Gil will be joined by frequent collaborator, pianist Akira Eguchi, in a recital program that features music by Bach, Prokofiev, Dorman and Beethoven. On March 3 in Tokyo’s Musashino Civic Hall, Gil presents an afternoon solo recital of three Bach Partitas. He concludes his Japan visit with a performance of Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto – a work included in the violin concertos of the 30’s project – with the NHK Symphony Orchestra and conductor Diego Matheuz.
