As I mentioned in my last post, a major highlight for this month is the new release of this awesome album of the Beethoven and Brahms violin concerti with The Knights, out on my label Canary Classics. I’m so excited to share my first-ever Beethoven concerto recording and can’t wait to hear what you think!
Tied in with this release are two exciting events with the 92nd Street Y, first a deep dive into the Beethoven concerto on March 3 with my pals and Artistic Directors of The Knights Colin & Eric Jacobsen, moderated by former WQXR Host Naomi Lewin (details here), and then a performance with Colin, Eric, my wife Adele, and musicians from the Knights of the Beethoven Concerto and an amazing string quartet by Boulogne on March 14 (details here).
Later this month I’m also beyond thrilled to give my first in-person recital in well over a year! Whether you live in the Phoenix area or wish to watch the live-stream, I hope you can safely join me for this recital on March 20, which includes some favorites from recent recitals as well as Fratres, a great work by Arvo Pärt that I recently performed with the Boston Symphony. I get the chance to share that same work with you again soon, along with a great concerto by our friend Boulogne with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, which premieres online here March 26 and remains available through the end of the season.
See here for more upcoming performances on my calendar.
