Gil will make his first ever visit to the United Arab Emirates in early September as part of the InClassica International Music Festival. Performing at the Dubai Opera on September 6, Gil will perform the Brahms Violin Concerto and Shor’s “Seascapes” with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Sergey Smbatyan.
Gil was overjoyed to return to Aspen, where—until last year’s pandemic hiatus—he has been featured annually. He performed the Barber Violin Concerto on August 1 with the Aspen Festival Orchestra, and according to a review in the Aspen Times, “inspired music director Robert Spano’s best conducting this summer.” Read more here.
Concluding this unusual season, during which Gil appeared twice in virtual programs with the Philadelphia Orchestra (both still available online!), Gil will appear in-person with the orchestra as it resumes its annual residency at the Bravo!
