Gil performs Brahms with the LA Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel

Gil joins another longtime friend and musical partner Gustavo Dudamel, when he performs the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic on February 21, 22, 23 and 24.  Their close affinity is such that it was the conductor who was chosen to surprise Gil on stage during a “Live From Lincoln Center” concert, and present him – wholly unexpectedly – with the hugely prestigious Avery Fisher Prize.

Solo Bach on tour

Last season, after 30 years of studying the sonatas and partitas privately, Gil finally brought his solo Bach interpretations out into the open to share with American audiences.  Gil brings his unique approach to this timeless repertoire on his upcoming US recital tour.  Click here to watch Gil’s impromptu recital of Bach’s exuberant solo Partita No. 3 at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum as part of NPR Music’s “Field Recording” series.
